Jitka Hanzlová photographed women from various places and cultures, and shows their personal charisma in a photographic radiance. The images display the women's playful characters and the subtle freedom of feminin individuality, often with painterly appeal, like the lighting of Vermeer or the pictorial "misterioso" and "sfumato"of Leonardo. Hanzlova is interested in portraying the immediate emotional intensity of her subject. In each case this is concentrated in the individual portraits and completes a deeper meaning as part of the series as a whole.
